The Issaquah Icebreaker Invitational, held on March 29, 2025, at Issaquah High School, marked the first invitational of the season for the Mercer Island High School Track & Field team. Check out the full meet results, and below are team highlights:
– Rhydian Battersby had a PR in the 400m, earning him 13th place
– Junior Matthew Greer had PR in the 800m
– Connor Ward and Silas Rennie both had big PRs in the 1600m
– Laszlo had a PR in the 110m and 300m Hurdles
– Boys 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m did a great job
– Ari Wolff had a PR in discus
– Alexander placed 4th in high jump
– Eloise placed 5th in the 100m and Aaliyah had a PR
– Maia also had a PR in the 100m
– Freshman Lauren Balousek won the 400m 🏆
– Maddie had a PR in the 400m
– Victoria had a PR and placed 2nd in a very close race in the 800m
– Katie also had a PR and earned 8th in the 800m
– Sophomore Sophia Rodriguez placed 1st in the 1600m with a PR of 4:47.20 🏆
– Eloise Newman placed 2nd in the 100m hurdles, Sequoia Bales placed 7th
– Girls 4x100m and 4x200m did a good job
– Our DMR with Lauren, Victoria, Sofia, and Sophia placed first by over a minute 🏆
– Maia had a PR in shot put
– Alisha placed 2nd in javelin with a PR
– Scout had a PR in high jump
– Junior Aaliyah Khan won long jump 🏆
